I'm not even sure I can pour how happy I am to be (almost) done with college applications into a journal entry without it being incoherant yelling for pages upon pages of joy.

I'm into Michigan State.
I'm awaiting a response from Cornell.
I'm sending in University of Michigan's application tomorrow.
Western Michigan is by Thanksgiving, says dad, because it's rolling admissions, and the application takes seriously about fifteen minutes.

Nonetheless, HUGE weight off my shoulders knowing that I'm 80% likely (I've done a lot of thinking haha) to be a Spartan next year. Even if I don't get into their honor's college, I can definitely make their Academic Scholar's program, they have the major I'm most in love with (environmental economics and policy), and I already have a roommate haha (because Madeline just got accepted too!)

Go Green, Go White, anybody?

ANYWAYS, it's also rather nice that I have all A's again for the first time since freshman year. Precalc (B) screwed me over in sophomore year, and Advanced Chem ( B- ) and AP Calc (C+) screwed me over last year. Now, all A's, even in AP Stats, which I ADORE THAT CLASS TO DEATH! I also have Astronomy, Spanish 3, Economics, and Intro to Psych; it's a dream schedule for sure! I'm wholly interested in every class I have.

Oh yeah, and then there's the whole "men" situation. I feel like a cougar, mainly younger guys liking me this year, a few older though (one freshie, three sophomores, three juniors, two seniors, two college freshies, two college juniors... yeah). I don't need to go too far into that situation, do I?

Basically, more writings and pictures to catch you all up on! And I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year too! SCORE!

Just here taking a break from, you guessed it, college essay writing! And I must say, it is proving frustrating beyond belief.

I have no problem responding to the prompts at all. In fact, I rather like how they aren't exactly rigid; I can write how I want to write, and what I want to write as long as the guidelines are met. Oh no...

My issue is length. I just wrote the essay of my life, a passion and well worded, engaging and descriptive essay responding to the following prompt.

College of Arts and Sciences:
Describe your intellectual interests, their evolution, and what makes them exciting to you. Tell us how you will utilize the academic programs in the College of Arts and Sciences to further explore your interests, intended major, or field of study.

A beautiful 948 word essay of pure literary flow combined with scientific know how. The problem?

948 words enter. Only 500 can remain.

Lots of Harry Potter, song inspired fiction going on right now. I finished my Draco and Hermione piece mixed with some Phantom of the Opera a few days ago, and now, I'm working on a Lupin and Lily piece, with Breaking Benjamin as the inspiration. Interesting...

Also, while the power was gloriously out last night, I read my mother the entire forty-three pages I have written on my Highlands romance piece. She really enjoyed it, actually, save that it seemed like there was a rush to get married in it haha.

I only hope that when I write my college essays, I have enough drive and concentration to finish them.
